Comments: Young Living celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. The same year it agreed to an essential oil settlement providing more than $5 million in coupons and other cash benefits to consumers who purchased products from the company. The settlement benefits consumers who purchased essential oil products from Young Living between Jan. 1, 2017, and April 25, 2024.

According to plaintiffs, Young Living falsely promised its essential oil products were “therapeutic” and capable of providing health-related benefits. But the plaintiffs claimed these products provide no health benefits and could even be harmful.

The Debut of Wyld Notes

In January, the company launched Wyld Notes, a sister company designed to complement and enhance Young Living’s network marketing model.  Wyld Notes’ initial launch included five fine fragrances. Young Living was quick to note that Wyld Notes is not a shift away from Young Living’s direct selling roots, but rather an additional tool to expand its reach and re-engage with a broader audience. The hybrid model allows Young Living Brand Partners who participate in the Wyld Notes affiliate program to receive commissions on both Young Living’s side and Wyld Notes’ side.

“At Young Living, we see opportunities where others see obstacles,” said Mary Young, co-founder & CEO of Young Living. “Wyld Notes represents our vision for the future: a new way to connect with customers and empower our brand partners, all while staying firmly rooted in the network marketing model that defines us. We are setting a new standard for the industry and are excited to lead this charge.”

The five initial Wyld Notes fragrances include Fireside Citrus, Timeless Floral, Smokey Ember, Sweet Decadence and Rugged Wilderness.

“The fragrance industry is often shrouded in secrets,” said Wyld Notes CEO Gaya Samarasingha.
